Camping in Nam Cat Tien National Park Located in Dong Nai province, about 150km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Cat Tien National Park is a tropical national park with an area of 72,000 hectares.

If you are a nature lover and want to explore the flora and fauna, Nam Cat Tien Park is definitely a destination not to be missed, recognized by UNESCO as the 411th Biosphere Reserve in the world. It is considered one of the outstanding natural treasures in Southern Vietnam. It is isolated from the outside world and surrounded by the Dong Nai River. Moreover, this is also an attractive place for you and your friends to organize a camping trip on the weekend.

The park has two seasons, the dry season from December to April and the rainy season from May to November. The best time to visit is from November to May, which is very convenient for you to travel to Cat Tien National Park and camp in the forest. How to get there It takes about 4 hours from Ho Chi Minh City by motorbike or 3 hours by car or public bus. You can also take a bus that takes you directly to Nam Cat Tien station.

You should depart on Saturday morning and return on Sunday evening. There are some motels near the forest with fancy names such as Elephant House, Tiger House, Queen Flower House… which are popular in Nam Cat Tien. The bedrooms are designed very simply but fully equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, refrigerator, hair dryer. All rooms have a small yard for BBQ at night.

However, always call ahead to make a reservation as the park can only accommodate a limited number of visitors. If you go camping, pitch your tent in the designated area of the forest, if you do not bring camping equipment, you can rent a tent at the reception for an affordable price, from $5/night. What to explore You can rent a bicycle or go hiking through the forest. It feels great! You will be surprised by some waterfalls in Nam Cat Tien. However, they are not high and clear, there are many cliffs with dense trees.

You can see the clouds surrounding and floating around the waterfall, creating a dark and mysterious picture. Mo Vet Waterfall, Troi Waterfall, Dung Waterfall are three recommended waterfalls to admire the beauty of the waterfalls hidden in the deep forest. The fauna in the park includes 100 species of mammals including the bison-like guar, 79 species of reptiles, 41 species of amphibians, along with an amazing variety of insects, including about 400 species of butterflies.

Among more than 350 species of birds, rare species include orange-necked grouse and Siamese pheasant. Learn about the hundred-year-old pine tree that is over 40m high, over 1m in diameter, with large roots. Doi Tuong, Hang Doi, Doi Da Trang, Bau Sau lagoon, traditional craft villages, etc. are ideal places for trekking. Among them, Bau Sau lagoon possesses the most poetic beauty in Nam Cat Tien. The wetland is located in the green forest with clear blue water that you should visit when traveling to Cat Tien National Park. In Bau Sau swamp, you can see crocodiles and other endangered animals listed in the IUCN Red Book. Don't miss the moment of enjoying these simple but traditional dishes in the deep forest and watching crocodiles hunting next to you.

Unique! In the evening, you and your friends can organize a BBQ and enjoy the best feeling with grilled chicken in the cool weather and the sound of guitar. A good night's sleep with the sounds of wild animals in the forest will be an unforgettable experience for your group.
